Compare models, not family names
Both Little Green and CleanSlate names appear on more than one portable cleaner or bundle. Start by writing the exact model numbers from the US offers you are considering. Use the manufacturer’s pages to confirm what belongs to each model, and keep retailer-specific bundles separate.
We have not tested these cleaners side by side. This guide shows what to compare before buying; it does not rank suction, drying speed or stain removal from experience we do not have.
The practical difference is in the tools
The Little Green 1400B’s compact three-inch tool and the CleanSlate Pet’s seven-inch WidePath tool suggest different handling priorities. For a narrow armrest or a small spot, a broad tool may offer no advantage. For a wider compatible cushion, covering more width may be useful, but that is not a measured claim that the job finishes faster.
At the manufacturer reference prices checked November 5, 2026, the Little Green was $129.99 and the CleanSlate Pet was discounted from $129.99 to $99.99. Verify the current selected offer rather than treating that discount as permanent.

Look at the tools for your surfaces
BISSELL lists a three-inch Tough Stain Tool and a crevice tool among the accessories for its 1400B listing. Hoover describes a wider handheld tool, a tight-spot tool and a hose-rinse accessory for the CleanSlate Pet. Recheck your chosen offer because bundles can differ.
A wider tool may be appealing for broad cushions, while a smaller shape may suit access around furniture details. That is a handling consideration, not proof that one cleans more effectively. Examine the furniture you own and determine which surfaces are suitable for wet extraction first.
First confirm your furniture allows wet cleaning: how to read W, S, WS and X sofa codes.
Ask how the tank and hose reset
Read the manufacturer’s after-use procedure for each candidate. Look for diagrams showing tank removal, lid access, tool disassembly and hose care. Decide where each step would happen in your home. A tank capacity number cannot tell you whether the opening will be convenient to clean.
Try not to judge this from a single promotional clip. The relevant routine includes the less attractive part after the visible stain has been treated. A clear care procedure and available replacement seals or tanks are useful ownership details.
What the reset involves in practice: cleaning a spot cleaner after use.
Keep specification conflicts visible
If a retailer, product page and manual give different measurements, do not silently pick whichever number favors a model. Confirm the exact version and ask the manufacturer if the difference would affect your decision. Avoid treating a model-family review as precise evidence for another variant.
Compare carrying weight, storage footprint, access and included formula on a consistent basis. Do not mix a bare-machine weight with a filled-machine weight. Note which figures are missing rather than filling them with a guess.
Use your main job as the tiebreaker
Write a single sentence describing the task you are buying for, such as occasional spots on a compatible sofa. Then choose the model whose tools, access and maintenance best match that task at the current total price.
If you cannot distinguish the two from trustworthy documentation, price and practical support can be reasonable deciding factors. There is no need to invent a universal winner. Keep the box contents and return arrangements documented so that the purchase you receive matches the comparison you made.
Before deciding on sale price alone, add the running costs of a portable carpet cleaner.
